Feasibility study to identify the needs and scope of maintenance and regulation works on the Bełdówka River under the contract titled “Maintenance and conservation of basic water drainage infrastructure”
Contracting Authority: Provincial Directorate for Land Reclamation and Water Facilities in Łódź
Location: Poddębice and Zgierz counties, Łódź Voivodeship
Length: 16.5 km
Project objective: To restore the river’s biodiversity and ecotone zones along the riverbed, as well as improve water flow and increase soil water retention in the river valley.
Scope of Ansee’s work: Ecological inventory of the fauna and flora of the river channel and valley within the Bełdówka River’s zone of influence. Identification of the scope of water maintenance and regulation works using a multi-variant approach, with selection of the recommended variant. Analysis of the proposed action variants for compliance with the Water Framework Directive and their impact on all quality elements used to classify water status or potential (assessment of impact on Water Body Units). The proposed actions were identified on the basis of an analysis of social issues affecting the population living in and using the Bełdówka River valley, based on public consultations.
